THE SUNDAY LEAGUE TEAM WHO HAVE BEEN |

On Friday 18th September 2026, we celebrated the club’s 50th Anniversary with a Player Reunion Dinner held at the Penridge Suite N11, with ex-England International Des Walker as our Guest Speaker. Des grew up in Enfield where he and his brothers were friends with some of our players as youngsters, and indeed he attended our Edmonton Sunday League Weekly Herald Cup Final against River Plate in 1980, which remains to this day as the only Final we have ever won in our 50-year history ! Our voluntary DJ on the night was one of our ‘Greats Of The Past’ Gareth John, while we are also indebted to the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation who provided a signed pennant amongst other things for the raffle, while Mareterra, Rockit Event Productions and the Penridge Suite themselves also contributed to the event with much-needed sponsorship. Although the 50th Anniversary Dinner was a big success in terms of being enjoyable for those who were present, we had budgeted for 200 tickets to be sold but we fell well short of that as a number of Ex-Club Members, Current Club Members & Guests were unable to attend. We did sell five tickets to people who either dropped out beforehand or didn’t turn up on the night, but we cannot give refunds for those. We gratefully received income from the event from donations, raffles and aforementioned sponsorships, but not enough to make a profit…which was one of the main aims of the evening so that we could fund the current team and keep the club going. We therefore now have a number of sponsorship opportunities for the 2026-2027 Season (which started on the 13th September just before this event was held), and these are all listed on THIS PDF. |
